Kirby L. Minor: The Tactical Advocate
For over 20 years, Kirby Minor has approached the practice of law as a discipline. A 3rd Degree Black Belt in Judo with over 40 years of martial arts experience (Kendo, Aikido, Karate, Wing Chun), including being a member of the U.S. High School Judo Team and training in Japan, Kirby brings a unique "Warrior Mindset" to the Jackson County Family Court.
In high-asset divorce and contested custody matters, Kirby applies the principles of The Art of War: victory is secured through superior positioning, disciplined discovery, and the strategic redirection of an opponent’s force. Whether he is tracing non-marital assets or navigating the complexities of parental alienation, his goal is always maximum efficiency for the best possible outcome.
Beyond the courtroom, Kirby’s background is defined by a global perspective, having served in the Japan Exchange Teaching (JET) Programme before earning his J.D. from UMKC School of Law. This combination of international experience and local courtroom tenacity allows him to remain a calm, decisive force in the middle of his clients' most stressful life transitions.
Kirby has successful bench trial and jury trial experience in both State and Federal Courts. The difference with Kirby is that he is accessible and available to his clients in person, by cell phone via call or text.
